portraiture

Application:
A portrait is a picture of  a person, usually is about a face but also a whole body.

Back then only important people could afford to contact  artists and get a portrait,that was used, like we use the camera today.
With portraits they could show to anyone how powerful they were, and with the addition of some detailes like thrones,crowns and gold jewelry their image of prestige grew.


 

Context:
We can find portraits today in many museums,art gallery,rich people houses and castles.
Portraits are also used for identification,so in passport or drive license and lately portraits are used for advertising.

photojournalism

Application:
Photojournalism is a form of journalism that shows through images some significant event.With all this pictures we had the perception of the truth considering the place where the pictures were taken.

Context:
The second world war was an opportunity for photojournalist to report many detailes about this event and Tony Vaccaro is been an important photojournalist.

Technics:
In those time  they had some technic for picture manipulating :

Decisive moment:
The decisive moment in photography is  a  fraction of second where all seem to be in the right place. it requires a lot of patience and skills.
